There is no railway through the middle of the park. Abergavenny (on the Cardiff–Manchester line) and Merthyr Tydfil (on the valleys line) are the nearest stations, and the TrawsCymru T4 bus runs from Cardiff via Merthyr to Brecon.

Getting around the park
A car is easiest for the scattered sights, but parking at Pen y Fan and the waterfalls fills by mid-morning in summer. Buses link Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny; check timetables carefully, as Sunday services are limited.
Onward
Continue to Hay-on-Wye (about 30 minutes from Brecon by car) or south to Cardiff and Swansea. See Getting to Wales.
